Dr. Dovilė Sagatienė presented during the Interdisciplinary Conference in Copenhagen
On May 25, 2023 Dr. Dovilė Sagatienė presented on the Lithuanian Partisan War (1945-1953) at the Panel ‘Nationalism in Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania’ during the Interdisciplinary Conference ‘Nationalism, War and Defeat’ in Copenhagen (Nationalism, War and Defeat – SDU).
Her presentation was based on the report being prepared under the MEMOCRACY project on memory laws in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The event brought together scholars from many different disciplines (including history, law, memory studies, sociology and political science).
The conference was chaired by historian Rasmus Glenthøj, Associate Professor at the Department of History, University of Southern Denmark, and PI of the research project: ‘The Shadow of Defeat: The Politics of History and 1864 in Danish identity’, generously funded by the Carlsberg Foundation, and is co-organised by Professor Benedikte Brincker (HOD) and the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen.
